but that's not what I had been doing... this time. [ a chuckle. ] I attached a motorcycle to a chariot and tore up the town with a friend... before we inevitably crashed into the lake.

[ she's going to shop around for a snack. hm. she pokes her head around one of the aisles to see what he's grabbed and... jerky, huh. that doesn't seem half bad. she had been considering doritos, because OF COURSE, but she'll grab some jerky too. heading back to the front she hops up onto the counter to sit. ]

Up here. [ pats the space beside her and scoots over, taking another sip of her soda. ]

So you and Grif are close?

[he won't quite hop up, but he will lean against the counter next to her.]

Something like that. We both like to fight, so it's a natural friendship, right?

[he cracks open the soda and takes a sip, before glancing over his shoulder at her]

I knew Griffin was special from the start. It was easy to tell that we were going to get along. [ sets the drink aside and opens the jerky. ]

You must have an eye for that. I thought we were basically done after I nearly killed him with a chainsaw.

[a long sip of the coke, and then he grabs the jerky.]

Which was dumb, looking back on it now.

It sounds dumb on paper too, but [ she shrugs. ] you live and you learn. I took a bike onto the train tracks with a friend and we almost got run over... twice...

And, just like your dumb experience, that made us closer. I guess it's just that near death experience stuff that makes you realize, hey, if we can get through this we can get through anything or something.

Something like that. Though, I think in this case, maybe we just knocked a few cells loose, so it doesn't even matter.
