[ ...stops as soon as she realizes both of them are not pleased with her. going to just set the bush down, which has now been kind of smushed, and back up; ears down. ]

[ He is indeed hauled along for the ride, and he makes an exasperated noise in Intensity's direction when he realizes what he's doing. PLEASE, Intensity, priorities.

To D.Va, though, once they're back out in the hallway (after he glances between her and the bush a few times): ]

It's okay. Don't worry about it.

[Look. They are going to assuage the guilt D.Va is inevitably going to have over injuring King by having it all taken care of before she snaps out of it. No feelings spiral rebounds allowed in this space.

But when they do reach D.Va:]

Where are you trying to go?

[ shush king!
intensity's got the right priorities! ]

[ she looks at the bush one last time and then makes some sort of pathetic noise before jerking her head in the direction of the stairs. this time, she doesn't bolt up them, but takes them slowly and moves a few rooms down the hall before choosing one. ]

[ headbutting the door in she starts knocking the beds on their side and pulling the mattresses off, moving them into a pile at the center of the room. pillows and blankets soon join it as she goes to raid the other nearby rooms. ]

[ here. this. nest. ]

All this is because you want to cuddle?

[All this because she wants to cuddle...

This is their life now. These are their choices.

Yoinks the bush out of her hand/tentacle/claw as she zooms by and is just going to usher King and his precious bush to the center of that nest.

Better get comfy before she gets back. It's probably his last opportunity.]

[ she's not opposed to cuddling.
king is important,
intensity is precious,
so this just makes sense. ]

[ her main goal is to warm up though. running around she realized all of the abandoned buildings didn't have jack shit in them, and the park could have been a decent place to make a nest if not for it being outside. this seemed like the most logical place to come... don't @ her. ]

[ she returns with a lamp, but she can't figure how to get it into the room. for a good few minutes they can watch her fail to realize she's got to turn it to get it inside, so eventually she just gives up; joining them in the room. ]

[ flopping down she tries to nestle beneath all the stuff she grabbed, all while getting as close to the both of them as humanly possible. ]

[ He indeed gets comfy in the nest. He's fuckin tired.

As she's curling up around them, he drops his voice -- not that she's seemed to understand anything said so far, but still. ]

If being upset triggered this, then maybe this will calm her down and she'll return to normal...

[Only half-listening]

Right.

[Said as he shifts so that he can sit up and pats D.Va affectionately on the head.]

Can you hold him still for a little bit?

[ purrs. ]

[ and gets enough of that sentence to realize what it is she must do. springs up out of the blankets and scoops up king, restraining him a bit with her tentacles so intensity can bandage him up! ]

[ TEAMWORK! ]

Wh-- hey!

[ Once more he is all tangled up in tentacles ]

You could just ask me.

We could. But then this will help calm her down.

So be a good patient.

[He says as he cleans and wraps up King's shoulder so at the very least it won't get infected.]

[ ...she licks the back of king's head ♥. GOOD PATIENT. ]

[ looks over his shoulder to watch as intensity takes care of things. wow, this sure is interesting. she's getting some ideas. ]

[ WHY.

He makes a face, but holds still. The wound itself is three large gashes through his shoulder and chest, but aside from being particularly nasty, they won't appear to have hit anything important. ]

I said I would deal with this after she's taken care of.

She is taken care of.

She's not going anywhere. You're not going anywhere.

And the last thing she needs is to come to her senses with you battered and bloodied. She'll just run off again.

[The chest area is harder to treat, but Intensity will do what he can. Shoving tentacles out of the way so he can sterilize and bandage the worst of it.

And when that's done, with a gentle tap of his fingertips, King's clothes mend themselves so it doesn't even look like he was injured at all.]

[ ...!?!?!?!!?!?!?! ]

[ he can fix more than just wind chimes?! she looks at king's clothes, then to intensity, then to king's clothes, then to intensity, and then to the bush. intensity! hey, intensity, can you fix the bush?! ]

[ she sets king down and gives him another lick for being such a good patient and then she's grabbing the bush and shoving it at intensity. here! fix this next! ]

[ . . . Well, he can get on board with D.Va never knowing this happened.

He just scoots aside to give Intensity better access to the bush. ]

[Sorry, D.Va. He can't do anything about your present to King. Just sighs and pushes the bush over both of their heads into the blanket pile.

Starts explaining as if she would understand:]

It has to be inorganic or dead.

That---

[Points to the bush]

Qualifies as neither.

Maybe after it dries out completely.

[ bad king. bad.
no more hiding things. ]

[ she doesn't understand, but she kind of gets the gist from his pushing it aside and the expression he's got on his face. the bush is... going to remain in bad shape. she makes a low murmur in the back of her throat and flops down in the pile of blankets, using her hind legs to drive herself underneath some of the other pillows and mattresses and blankets. her tail remains out, as do some of her tentacles, which just flop about as she makes another depressed sound. ]

[ she hurt king and her present to king is ruined. ]

[ All this for a bush...

He pats the sad lump a few times, placatingly. ]

It's fine, like I said. Just relax.

[Flops down on his side of the nest, letting King handle D.Va for the moment.

Except.

Wait.

Pushes himself back up to go fetch the lamp and bring it into the room]

[ she's going to make an attempt to drag him under. it's nice and warm beneath all of the blankets and pillows, king! she's about to make a noise of protest when intensity leaves, but then she realizes he's going to grab the lamp. a please sound follows, and she sends several tentacles to cuddle him as soon as he takes his seat again. ]

[ ...tries to yank him over after a few seconds. ]

[ cuddles, plz&thx. ]

[ it's not hard to tell she's cold and, when she's not moving or shrieking like a lunatic, she's shivering. did she ever get around to telling either of you she's ectothermic, ..? oops. ]

[ He's still very, deeply unsure about monster cuddles. Especially after an accidental slashing.

But... this is the only idea he has to hopefully turn her back to normal, so he goes with it easily. ]

You're still cold after all of that...? I told you not to go in the water.

[Intensity is doubly unsure about monster cuddles due to a re-occurring nightmare. And is about as relaxed as a taut bow string throughout the entire process. But whatever. It's not like he was planning on sleeping.

Nor is he defenseless in the waking world.

Added bonus, Intensity is already well acquainted with the fact that she's ectothermic thanks to that time she showed up at his office sans blood.]

It's not just that. It's also one of her corruptions.

[And he shifts until he is at least able to get his metal arm free, wrapping it in multiple layers of blankets before heating up the metal to probably a tad warmer than is comfortable for a human. He offers it to D.Va's tentacles. Hopefully they'll wrap around only that instead of cuddling him entirely.

Or at least he can try to bargain for it.]

Only the arm. Got it?

[ she makes a low rumbling sound in response. look, if she hadn't drank all of that liquor, then she might not have rushed straight into the ocean like an idiot. she does love the beach though, soooo maybe that's a lie. jury's out. ]

[ since intensity doesn't seem the least bit interested in cuddling she's going to drag king closer to him. maybe he won't notice how very obviously she keeps moving an inch or two, disrupting the entire pile of pillows and blankets. ]

[ she ignores the arm for now, far more interested in dragging the both of them in closely, and right now she's only successfully gotten half. ]
